Who We Are |
Sunrise Christian Community is not just a local church. We are a global prayer, disciple multiplication, and training network. We see ourselves as a prayer, training and mission base that seeks to empower, train, and coach people to start disciple making movements locally and cross-culturally in different parts of the world.
We follow the New Testament Apostolic church model from the book of Acts characterized by Spirit-filled and kingdom-minded disciples, supernatural and miraculous experience, prayer-saturated gatherings, explosive disciple making movements, organic/simple church multiplication, and cross-cultural missions. We are also a 501c(3) tax-exempt non-profit religious organization registered with the United States federal government and the State of California since 2000. |

Our Story |
In 2000, Sunrise Christian Community Los Angeles began meeting as a home church in the San Gabriel Valley with about ten people.
From 2004 to 2005, Jimmy and his wife had several spiritual encounters with the Holy Spirit that dramatically transformed their lives and ministry, and opened up their eyes to the things of the Spirit. In 2005, Sunrise LA started to welcome the ministry and gifts of the Holy Spirit into our Bible-centered evangelical congregation. In 2011, we started a House of Prayer ministry in the San Gabriel Valley with the vision of united prayer among churches and city-wide revival. In 2013, we learned to walk and serve in honor and supernatural ministry. In 2015, we learned about disciple making movements from our missionary friend Sean Steckbeck and started a ministry of planting reproducible simple churches in different surrounding neighborhoods. In 2016, we transformed from a local church to a mission base with a house of prayer, a training school, and a multi-cultural and international disciple multiplication and church planting network. |
